SET PARAMETERS TO SEARCH ENTIRE PHOTO LIBRARY

This is NOT a comprehensive ‘find every photo you have ever taken’ presentation. This presentation will help you find most of your photographs using the most basic search criteria. This technique may be helpful. If it is – use it. If not - do not use it.

If you have thousands of photos in your camera roll (as most of us do) or in various photo albums some of these search techniques may be helpful in quickly locating specific ‘target’ photos.

PURPOSE: These techniques will be helpful in finding a specific location, date, year or person in your thousands of photographs (camera roll). It uses the metadata associated to your photographs.

Here is the process

YOU must search all of your photographs for this process to work:

I will use my phone – you use your iPhone, tablet, computer. It works the same on all of them: Watch me first – then your turn.

Go to search tab. Make sure that you are searching all of your photographs. Go to search and type in the location, year, person or country (search criteria) you are seeking.

Search: (Location) For example: Monterey, Sacramento, Hawaii. Type in broad geographical locations. CITY, STATE, ADDRESS. Now, you do it on your phone.

Search: (Year) A year 2018 -- put in the year you think you took your picture you are search for. Now, you do it on your phone. To search all photos type in dates.

Search: (Month) Put in the month to be searched. For example, type in the month: June. Now all of your June photos should be displayed on the camera. Try other months. Look at March and you will find a range of dates (photos) all taken in March. Some will be dates, albums, movies etc. Select what you want and then open it.

Search: (Person) Select the photo of individual you want to search for. Do not type in their name. I search for the individual’s photo not name. Then you select the ones you want for your review.

Search: (Street Address) type in street address. Greywell. Now, you type in your own street address. Do not type in the word HOME. Type in a street address. The photos you took at your home/work/school/whatever should be identified.
