Zoom - Share iOS Screen

In our Studio seminar it is best to attend Zoom on your computer and have your iPhone and iPad handy to follow a demonstration.

Tip: Add a Calendar event for your Zoom meetings and in the Notes area add the link to the Zoom meeting - plus the meeting id and password. Then you can join a meeting easily on your computer, iPad or even your iPhone.

Sometimes you will be invited to demonstrate your workflow or technique. Here are the steps to open Zoom on your device and present.

Zoom version 5.7.5 - Aug 16, 2021 (check for updates each week)

iPad and iPhone
  • Open the Calendar to the Zoom meeting, tap Show All Notes to reveal the meeting link. Tap the link.
  • The Zoom app will automatically open to the Audio Prompt. Tap CANCEL here. (Yes, counter intuitive! You are in the meeting on your computer and your iPad will just be your sidekick - no audio needed and would echo anyway.)
Share Screen
  • iPad: Tap Share Screen, the green icon at the top right corner.
  • iPhone: Tap Share Screen, the green icon at the bottom of your screen.
  • Tap Screen. Microphone is Off.  Tap Start Broadcast. Swipe up to Home Screen. Now navigate your iPad to show workflow or technique.
  • Your computer mic will be shared to the meeting participants.
Stop Share Screen
  • iPad: Zoom shows a red button in the top right corner. Tap, then tap Stop.
  • iPhone: Zoom shows a red button in the top left corner.
  • Tap once to see options. Tap Stop Broadcast to end your screen sharing.
