Life in the Apple ecosystem is always interesting but multiple that by100 once Apple released computers and laptops with the M1 Apple Silicon chips. Now distant relations of desktop and mobile have come close together!
When buying mobile apps, some were labeled "universal" meaning that they worked on both iPhone and iPad. Some apps have desktop applications and files sync through iCloud from mobile device to desktop/laptop. Now that distinction is going away.
Apps purchased for iPhone and iPad have started to appear in the App Store on M1 and M2 Macintosh computers. There will be references "Designed for iPad" or "Designed for iPhone" and also "Not verified for macOS."
